Everything which comes from Hinduism has its religious and scientific reason. Hinduism has given many precious things and researches to the world, which helped the modern science in unravelling so many mysteries. Today Yoga has become a universal practice, and ‘OM’ is the centre of Meditation.
OM is often chanted as a prefix of any mantra. OM or AUM is the most sacred symbol or syllable in Hinduism. Its also been suggested that when chanted the vibration of OM is said to be 432HZ which is the vibrational frequency of everything in this universe.
The rhythmic pronunciation of OM creates a vibration which causes a soothing effect on our body and nervous system similar to the effects of meditation. Om is the basic sound of the universe; chanting it tunes us into that sound and acknowledges our connection to everything in the world and the Universe.
In Hinduism, Om is one of the most important spiritual symbols. It refers to Atman and Brahaman. Atman means soul, or self within and Brahman means ultimate reality, the entirety of the universe, truth, divine, supreme spirit, cosmic principles, knowledge. The symbol is often found at the beginning and the end of chapters in the Vedas, the Upanishads, and other Hindu texts.
