Sun is the most important source of energy and the origin in the whole universe, we can’t even think to survive a single day without the Sun. In Hinduism the sun is mentioned as one of the most powerful and strong Deity, we worship him by offering water, as gratitude for providing energy and vitality to all living beings. In Vedic beliefs, the sun governs overall health and eyes. Offering water to the sun brings relief from health issues and alleviates negativity from life.
It is to be said that Deity sun rides on a chariot steered by seven horses and he revolves around the earth, these seven horses represent the rainbow colours and seven chakras of the human body. So, in the early morning when the Sun is slightly visible, his rays are pure white in colour at that time. When we offer water, rays can be seen from the flowing water and the spectrum of rays passing through water gets refracted and breaks into seven colours like mini rainbow, this dispersed light enters in the body and balance the seven colours in the body.
Offering water in the early morning is more effective after a bath, because after being drenched our body pores are open and morning rays are a very powerful source of vitamin D and our chest absorbs maximum sunlight and positive energy at that time, which keeps our eyes, heart and mind fit. Chanting Gayatri Mantra during this procedure is said to be effective as it gives mental peace and willpower to overcome any obstacles in life.
