Recently, an oldest idol of Lord Shiva has found and researchers are claiming it’s older than more than 26,000 years. Pictures of this divine idol are surfacing online and it has been said that it was given a Tibetan monk to a CIA officer.
It was during the 1960s, when a wooden box was handed over to the officials of the CIA by a Tibetan monk at Lo Monthang, to keep it safe from the Chinese forces.
The officer took this responsibility and wrote down all the details about this. After that, officials then sent the box to India through an aircraft. It was later transported to Camp Hale. This idol is around 26,450 years old today and about 23,300 years older than the legendary Hindu Kurukshetra.
Coming to the CIA officer, he decided to examine the matter and he found a strange manuscript along with an ancient idol inside the box. The special box along with the Idol was sent to the University of California Radiation Laboratory, Berkeley for a radiocarbon test to determine its age and how it was crafted.
The results by the experts surprised everyone as it stated that the wooden box and the Idol belonged to the Dwapara Yuga. The readings indicated a period around 26,450 BCE i.e about 28,450 years old today and around 23,300 years old than the Mahabharata times. The experts also stated that the Idol was one of the oldest Hindu idols in existence.
The Kalpa Vigraha was found in an 8-inch thick box with a manuscript written on wooden slats. The manuscript had the name of the Idol- “kalpa maha-ayusham rasayana vigraha” which was then translated and shortened to “Kalpa Vigraha.”
The idol shows Lord Shiva kneeling or seated on one knee. The ancient divine Idol shows Lord Shiva with Snake as a crown on his head and is seen giving “Sudarsana Chakra” with his right hand to Lord Vishnu. It is estimated to be about 5.3 cm tall and about 4.7 cm wide, with an oval base 2.5 cm long and 1.7 cm wide and weighs around 47.10 gms.
